This 4 bedroom Home is in an Area developed by Paul Cornell. As a Developer of what is now Hyde Park, throughout the 1870s. The railroad separation crossing did not occur until around 1912. Greater Grand Crossing was historically a railroad suburb made up of five, independently developed, older ethnic neighborhoods. The Grand Crossing and Brookline neighborhoods were predominantly made up of immigrant craftsmen, farmers and factory workers; The Essex area residence were primarily from English, Ireland and Scotland. They worked for the railroads. The Brookdale folks settled mostly by Chicago-born residents employed in the building trades and by the railroads; Park Manor folks were the last folks settling in these smaller neighborhoods to develop. They were residents predominantly from the east-coast Yankee stock. Lovely neighborhood with many historical cites came to settle with CTA Transit port along with other families to make up the community.
